December Grace and Chocolate Countdown Celebration, Part 1

It is December! I can't believe it. The Christmas tree is up, the lights are on the house, it's 17 degrees outside and it is time for another Grace and Chocolate Countdown Celebration giveaway! Hooray!

First, I have some FANTASTIC news: I will be sharing the BOOK LAUNCH of Of Grace and Chocolate with none other than the unstoppable SARAH M. EDEN and the launch of her next title, Friends and Foes! She and I will be celebrating the release of our books with a party and signing for all of you, so start spreading the word! So far, the launch will take place during the 2nd week of January, 2012, and it will be somewhere in the Salt Lake City area. It's going to be EPIC. I can't wait!

To celebrate, I'm giving away another 2 lb. bag of chocolate-covered cinnamon bears!!! Yayyyy!

I'm also giving away a copy of . . . EVERNEATH by Brodi Ashton! This one is definitely on my wish list! But just so you know, it isn't out until January 24, 2012. Don't worry! It will be worth the wait.

Everneath is a unique re-telling of the Persephone and Hades myth. Go see the trailer here. You must. It gives me goosebumps.

To enter, please leave a comment below listing one of your favorite Christmas traditions, then "like" my Facebook page! That's it! You must do both to be entered once. To enter again, share this contest on Facebook, Twitter, your blog, etc. There will be two winners drawn, one for the chocolate, and one for the book! Exclamation points galore!

Contest open until midnight, Wednesday, December 7th.

We're getting closer, people! I can almost taste it!

It tastes like chocolate.

One of our favorite traditions is going caroling on Christmas Eve as a family. We sing in parts and hand out plates of cookies to the families we visit. It's great.

To see your writing come to life in books is so great!
One of our traditions is doing the 12 days of Christmas. We read a Christmas story and sing a Christmas song and scripture. It really brings the meaning of Christmas into our home.

One of our traditions is the usual of open one gift (usually pj's) on Christmas Eve and act out the nativity. Also we read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein and talk about Christ and all He gives to us. It helps you think about what you can give to Christ in return for all He has done for us!!!
I liked your facebook page and shared the link!

OH MY GOSH! I LOVE cinnamon bears. And covered in chocolate? Hello!!! My favorite tradition is lighting all the candles on Christmas Eve and reading the first Christmas out of the Bible. LOVE that. Did it with my parents, and now I do it with my kids.

We like to drive around town and look at all the Christmas lights...at night of course!

So excited for you! I liked your page on FB...as for traditions; its a carry over from my childhood. On Christmas Eve we read and act out the Nativity story. With three kids there are quite a few costume changes, and verges on hilarious more than holy, but I love it!

One of my favorite traditions is our Nativity advent calendar. Each day we hang up part of our Nativity picture, sing a song, and read a scripture and poem. It really sets the tone for the holiday. I will post this on Facebook. The launch party sounds super fun!

THE GHERKIN

An itty-bitty green pickle ornament we hide deep in the Christmas tree for the kids to find. (Supposedly a German Christmas tradition...)

Favorite tradition? Dipping Oreos in dark mint chocolate, topping them with cute Christmas sprinkles, then eating, er, I mean giving them to the neighbors. :)

Oh, I would "like" your Facebook page if I had one, and alas, the LDSWBR Facebook page doesn't let me "like" others. I love you, sweetie, and I would love to win, but not enough to put up with the family politics having a Facebook page would bring, ha ha!

Can't wait to see the G&C trailer!

My favorite Christmas tradition is that we go caroling to non-members houses on Christmas Eve. I love singing and spreading Christmas cheer!

Also, I LOVE chocolate covered cinnamon bears. What are the odds of me winning again? I just don't know, but they are my FAVORITE! :)

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is our all night Christmas party that really starts in the afternoon when we go cut down the Christmas tree and bring it home. We stay up decorating the house and making fruit cake, signing and addressing Christmas cards, etc. Lots of Christmas music and smells surround all the activities. We always open a family gift and it's always a game that we then all play. We make German pancakes around 1 or 2 AM, eat, and fall into bed. Then we're all set for the Christmas season to begin.

After we put the kids to bed my husband and I break out the wine glasses and fill them with sparkling cider. Then we bask in the glorious glow of Christmas lights and the beautiful silence of sleeping children.
